EducationPublic Forums
We organize local public forums such as medical screening camps and seminars. By holding free workshops we educate people about early detection and prevention of Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer. We promote public awareness through distribution of educational materials about Breast and Cervical Cancers. From 2008 to 2014 we published an annual magazine, 'Dishari'. Practical Help We provide one-on-one communication with people facing cancer to provide them with the mental and emotional support necessary to cope with cancer allow them to maintain their quality of life, and to strengthen the fight against cancer. We provide information to educate the public to reduce the risk of cancer, as well as early detection and prevention of cancer. We encourage women to conduct self-breast exams and obtain appropriate care and testing from the doctors. |
Financial AssistanceScholarship Fund
The foundation established a Scholarship Fund at Kolkata, India to assist students in paying for qualified education expenses, such as tuition and course related expenses such as books, supplies and equipment. The scholarship is awarded to college bound under privileged high school students from rural West Bengal, India, whose parents experienced cancer since the student may not have sufficient resources to pay for their tuition as a result of the cancer diagnosis. The scholarship check is issued to the college for that student. Medical Assistance We work with health professionals to identify the cost per person for preventive screening and encourage these health care professionals to offer their services to persons of limited means at discounted rates with the cost of the services being supplemented by financial assistance from the Foundation. We communicate this service in our public educational and awareness sessions. Our goal is to help people who attend these sessions. We have established a process to provide financial assistance based on available funds and needs. |
