2015 Activities

KDFCC is dedicated to helping people understand that the risk of cancer can be reduced by proper screening and prevention. Our mission is to raise cancer awareness and to teach people that early detection and proper screening can save lives. We provide breast and cervical cancer screening along with general medical checkups for free at our medical camps. Also, we provide medicine for free when possible or at very little cost.

Following is our activities:
  • This year we gave 3 seminars. In the seminar we discussed the importance of breast self exams and cervical screening that could save lives.
  • KDFCC volunteers along with the support of medical team of CNCI conducted 4 medical and breast and cervical screening camps:
  • A total of 286 women were checked by gynecologists.
  • BSE (Breast Self-Exam) was performed on 251 women. CBE (Clinical Breast Exam) was performed on 10 women. These women currently are following doctor’s advice.
  • 6 women were detected with breast lump and 212 women were screened for cervical cancer.
  • Biopsies were taken from 10 women, out of whom 3 were diagnosed with CIN1 and 1 was diagnosed with CIN 11.
  • Our volunteers escorted these women to the CNCI hospital where they were successfully treated by surgery and /or medicine. Now these women are in remission and having been advised to do the routine follow up checkups.
  • In addition, KDFCC also provided free general checkups as well as a program to determine blood sugar level of villagers while fasting.
  • This year a total of 545 people both male, female and children took advantage of these free checkups.
  • A total of 121 villagers had their blood sugar level checked with no cost.
  • We provided free medicine to 561 patients, both gynecological and general.
  • KDFCC continued to provide support to students from families that included cancer victims for books, admission fees and tuition fees so that these students can move forward for their better life.
  • KDFCC provided monetary support of different type of cancer patients for their treatment as well. We supported 4 cancer patients who suffer from cancer such as blood cancer, rectum, stomach cancer.
  • Our annual Rally held to raise cancer awareness and to encourage people to learn about the importance of early detection. Approximately 200 people joined with us.
  • Cancer affects millions of people irrespective religion, race and creed. We strongly believe together we can help fight against cancer and make progress towards our mission.
